Crutching with Covid

Crutching with Covid

Existence rut
such rancor and pain,
let’s medicate bored
my dull senses sane.

Pill powder liquor
draw from an ember,
brighten up the load
to thee surrender.

It’s time for a ride
board smoke ridden train,
so bogart a drag
of old mary jane.

Pass me the bottle
intemperate cheer,
reality woes
must steer myself clear.

Bottom a shot glass
pandemic’s cruel joke,
prefer feeling numb
relief from the yoke.

Liver’s a quiver
bring on another,
the view looks better
lying down under.

The nerves pulling taut
starting to flounder,
sit back and relax
take a white downer.

Deliver me lord
lightning ‘n thunder,
recoup my lost soul
falling asunder.

Spare us the suffer
let’s win the cure’s race,
awaiting the end
of Covid’s foul face.
